North End Road
Hampstead
Overview
Originally designed by one of the country’s most significant art deco cinema architects, albeit designed in the Arts and Crafts style at the entrance to Hampstead Garden Suburb, Rare responded to the rich historical context of the house to bring a sense of joy and playfulness.
Working with or restoring the rich existing Arts and Crafts detailing, we were able to compliment these with a new palette of materials and colour ensuring the design was a specific response to its unique history and our client’s own unique aspirations.
The majority of the design was a subtle response, however there are a number of bolder moves, such as the pink kitchen and coloured bathroom grout that expressed the individuality of the client.
